The perfect balance of sweet and sour, the Amaro Sour is a simply delicious cocktail for any day of the week. The fresh citrus, simple syrup and bittersweet amaro create a complex flavour combination that is topped with a thick, creamy foam layer and a dash of bitters.
2 ounces amaro*
3/4 ounces lemon juice
3/4 ounces simple syrup
1 small egg white
Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and dry shake vigorously, about 15 seconds. Add ice and shake again until well-chilled. Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Garnish with a dash of Angostura bitters, a lemon twist, or whatever makes you happy!
*Averna is our preferred amaro (Italian bitter liqueur), but feel free to use an alternative like Amaro Lucano or Luxardo Amaro Abano.
